I hold a B.M.E. in K-12 Vocal and Classroom Music and MAED (Masters of Arts in Education) in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Northwestern-St. Paul. From 2013-2019, I have taught K-12 music in the surrounding area including the Sleepy Eye, New Ulm, Saint Peter, and Janesville school districts.
All of my teaching appointments have spanned the entire PreK-12 spectrum which has left me very adept at juggling a wide range of learners in one setting! My teaching has also included private voice and piano lessons on the side. Prior to that, I taught piano lessons through the Academy of Music at the University of Northwestern-St. Paul for 3 years but I have been teaching piano lessons on and off for the last 15 years.
In addition to teaching at the studio, I am also the Music Director for the theater program at Sleepy Eye Public School so I stay busy!
Education for all students is something that I am a firm believer in and I strive to make the learning environment a safe and fun place to learn (regardless of ability level). I am a huge advocate for student-centered learning and having fun to strengthen one’s learning.
