I hold a B.M.E. in K-12 Vocal and Classroom Music and MAED (Masters of Arts in Education) in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Northwestern-St. Paul. I have taught in the public school setting for the last six years including the Sleepy Eye, New Ulm, Saint Peter, and Janesville school districts.
All of my teaching appointments have spanned the entire PreK-12 spectrum which has left me very adept at juggling a wide range of learners in one setting! My teaching has also included private voice and piano lessons on the side. Prior to that, I taught piano lessons through the Academy of Music at the University of Northwestern-St. Paul for 3 years but I have been teaching piano lessons on and off for the last 12 years.
Education for all students is something that I am a firm believer in and I strive to make the learning environment a safe and fun place to learn (regardless of ability level). I am a huge advocate for student-centered learning and having fun to strengthen one’s learning.
